- Microsoft Buys Land in Dulles Cloud Corridor: Microsoft has acquired land in the fast-growing Dulles Cloud Corridor in Northern Virginia, paying about $1.4 million an acre for land zoned for data center use.
- Switch Developing Security Robots to Patrol Edge Data Centers: Switch has developed Switch Sentry security robots to deploy at future edge data centers and enterprise sites. Robots could be an important tool to solve challenges in data center management, as well as contactless commerce during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- SBA Buys JaxNAP Data Center, Eyes Larger Move Into Edge Computing: Tower operator SBA Communications is signaling a larger push into edge computing, which could include more data centers and perhaps thousands of edge modules at the base of telecom towers.
- Edge Computing: New Architecture for a Hyperconnected World: Our special report on edge computing, explores the possibilities of the edge data center and how edge computing is changing the colocation and data landscape of today.
