Tecto Advances Construction of Mega Lobster, Its Third Data Center in Fortaleza

May 21, 2025
Project completes precast structure and prepares for commissioning phase. Large-scale data center with 20-megawatt capacity to begin operations in the second half of 2025.

Fortaleza, 28 April 2025 – The construction of Mega Lobster, Tecto's large-scale, high-density data center in Fortaleza (CE), is progressing at a rapid pace. A major milestone has been completed: the conclusion of the precast structure. Alongside the fast-paced façade installation, internal infrastructure work is underway, including cable deployment, fire detection and suppression systems, and closed-circuit video monitoring. With an investment of R$550 million, the new data center is set to begin operations in the second half of 2025.

Mega Lobster will have an installed capacity of 20 megawatts and will operate continuously to meet the high-volume data storage and processing demands of content providers, cloud service providers, internet companies, and telecommunications operators. It will feature a closed-loop water system and use 100% renewable energy. Designed to include 10 data halls, the new facility, located at Praia do Futuro, will be connected to the company’s other two data centers and to V.tal’s extensive fiber optic network, integrating a national and international connectivity ecosystem that stands as a global benchmark.

The project is expected to generate more than 450 jobs during the construction and operational phases, contributing to the region’s economic development. Mega Lobster will be Tecto’s third data center in Fortaleza and will offer operators, content providers, and cloud companies comprehensive solutions for accessing Ceará’s Central Internet Exchange Point (PIX), which records the second-highest internet traffic volume in Brazil.
