Data Center Job Spotlight: PM in Ashburn Market

The March Data Center Job Spotlight features a new CxA PM position in Ashburn, Va., as well as opportunities in Arizona, Colorado, and Texas. And if you are interested in heading North, there is an opening for a data center facility manager in Quebec City. Positions range from engineering and project management, to sales and commissioning.

As we edge closer to spring, data center opportunities are growing right along with the largest colocation markets in the country, including Northern Virginia and Dallas, Texas, and the surrounding areas. That’s according to the March Data Center Job Spotlight, brought to you in partnership with Pkaza Critical Facilities Recruiting.

This month’s job spotlight features a new CxA PM position in Ashburn, Va., as well as opportunities in Arizona, Colorado, and Texas. And if you are interested in heading North, there is an opening for a data center facility manager in Quebec City.

Virginia

CxA PMAshburn, Va. 

This CxA PM position in the booming Northern Virginia colocation market requires seven to 10 years of experience in the electrical/mechanical field, and a bachelor’s or associates degree in electrical/mechanical engineering is a plus for potential candidates.

The chosen candidate will manage projects, plans, provide and gather specifications, and execute assignments in a multidisciplinary electrical engineering commissioning role for large facility projects.  Verticals include government, commercial, financial services, hospitals or institutional.Previous data center experience is a must.

UPS Field Service Engineer , Ashburn, Va. 

A leader in third-party installs and maintenance of mission critical equipment is looking for a new UPS field technician. The company’s offerings support facilities like data centers, telecommunications facilities and disaster recovery sites.

The chosen technician will be responsible for commissioning, maintaining and providing emergency support on power electronics at customers’ sites within their respective regional coverage area.

Three to five years of experience in this field and the ability to troubleshoot down to component level on equipment such as UPS, batteries, PDUs, and STS’ is required.

Electrical Commissioning Engineer,Ashburn, Va. 

This engineering opportunity requires the chosen candidate to participate in daily commissioning activities, including reviewing design criteria, equipment pre-start-up and start-up procedures, integrated system testing and more.

This position requires five to 10 years of experience in the electrical field, as well as experience in the data center industry, and electrical equipment testing in critical facilities.

Arizona 

Data Center Construction PM, Phoenix, Ariz.

The chosen PM for this Phoenix-based position will be responsible for planning and organizing large scale data center construction projects, putting together plans, establishing project objectives and more.

This position requires prior experience managing data center construction projects, relevant experience in the data center construction industry, and experience managing data center construction projects with budgets from $25 to $100 million.

Colorado 

Director of Sales Engineering
Denver, Colo.

The new director of sales engineering, with a leader in mission-critical data center facilities, will support data centers nationwide while serving as the subject matter expert on all data center products, services and solutions.

Ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the data center and mission-critical space. the chosen candidate will be responsible for preparing proposals, presentations, and briefings. Candidates will also be expected to develop and maintain positive relationships with existing business partners in hopes to generate additional business. A BA or BS in electrical engineering  or mechanical engineering is preferred.

Senior Mechanical Engineer, Denver, Colo.

The candidate chosen for this position with a major colocation provider will manage projects, create designs and plans, provided and gather specifications, and execute assignments in a multidisciplinary mechanical engineering design role for complex facility design projects.

Ten or more years of experience and a BA in mechanical engineering is required.

Texas

Data Center Colo Sales, Dallas, Texas

The sales professional chosen for this role will support the Dallas region for a leading provider in the data center space and pursue sales opportunities to attract customers for their data center colocation environment and product offerings.

The position requires  five to 10 years of relevant data center sales experience, as well as knowledge of the real estate colocation market.

Mechanical Commissioning Engineer, Dallas, Texas

This position with a leader in critical facilities assessment and commissioning services requires five to 10 years of the experience in the mechanical and HVAC field.

The chosen candidate will manage projects, plans, provide and gather specifications, and execute assignments in a multidisciplinary mechanical engineering commissioning role for large facility projects.  Verticals covered include government, commercial, financial services, hospitals, or institutional in large mission critical facilities. P.E. and/or LEED Accreditation a huge plus.

Canada

Data Center Facility Manager, Quebec City, Quebec 

This opportunity is with a leading mission-critical data center developer and colocation provider, and requires 7-10 years of data center or critical facility operations and maintenance experience. A solid understanding of critical electrical and mechanical/HVAC equipment is required.
